Five Short Pieces  2/22 to 4/22

This is a series of short pieces based on my backyard at night between 3-5 am.  I am sleeping but I bet this is what goes on.  I wrote these pieces on my IPAD using the StaffPad program.  I was able to write most of this in bed.

It is scored for Marimba, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Solo Cello, Piano, and a Staffpad kind of synth sound.

Symphony 2. 1/22-7/23

This was a full orchestra piece.  Adding Brass and Percussion.  Written on my iPad using the Staffpad program.  I was trying to replicate some sounds from Romantic symphonies.  I was happy to break the 30 minute mark.

Not sure what to call this.  My first orchestral style piece.  Started with the Harp and went from there.   5/2020 to about 3/2021

Still revising the “musicians” for this gig.  Written in Dorico but I had to move it to my Studio One program to use the better sound libraries.

Scored for 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, English Horn, Harp, Strings.

First String Quartet.  9/21 to 12/21.

I just wanted to write a quartet so I kept it simple.  I was just going for a late 18th century sound.  Things got a little less simple with each movement but it was fun to write.

Written in Dorico and I learned how to use the better sound libraries within Dorico itself. Used Vienna Strings Solo Strings Library for this.
